Sensory Curriculum

We teach a sensory curriculum to pupils in the home and in the schoolroom.  Of course, what we teach varies widely depending on each young person. However, please feel free to use and adapt any of the resources below which have worked at different times for us.

Books that we have found are easily adaptable as sensory stories: Walking Through the Jungle (there's also a retelling on YouTube); Going on a Bear Hunt; Peace At Last.

NOTE: many of the stories above are written with pre-schoolers in mind.  Does that make them age inappropriate for older audiences?  We feel it depends on the child.  The key is to choose a story that is appropriate to the interest and enjoyment of the child.
